DOI: 10.1177/0042085905276376 Technology, Narratives, Vignettes, and the Intercultural and Cross-Cultural Teaching PortalUniversity of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign This article presents information on the history and role of Web-based tools and vignette use in education by providing a definition of a vignette and other Web-based collaboration tools. After providing background on the use of vignettes and case-based scenarios in teaching and learning, the author discusses how Web-based tools may be used to examine how educators perceive and solve a particular classroom interaction involving two children. The author presents an example of how data can be gathered through the use of Web-based cultural learning portals.
